Edward A. Pechter, beloved and highly regarded plastic surgeon and philanthropist of the Santa Clarita Valley in Southern California, died suddenly Wednesday at his home at the age of 60. Ed lived for 30 years in Chicago and spent the past 30 years in CA. He received the award for excellence in clinical teaching for plastic surgery residents at UCLA in 2005 and was part of a medical team that traveled to China and performed free palate repairs for children there. Ed was the cherished son of Ruthe and the late Morris W. Pechter; devoted father of Greta and Jacqueline; beloved fiance of Janet Hudson; dearly loved brother of Eileen (Daniel) Nathan, Deborah (Larry) Danziger, Sheila Pechter, and Brad (Helene Rosenblum) Pechter; treasured uncle of Zachary, Gabriel, and Noah; fond cousin and nephew of many, and an office "family" that loved him .
A memorial service will be held in his honor Thursday July 15th, 2010 at 6 p.m. PDT in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Valencia
