It is illegal to throw your fluorescent lighting in the trash, because they contain toxic materials. But there are several ways to dispose of them that are legal and safe for you and the environment.
Visit our Fluorescent Lighting page right here at Nevada County Recycles! to find out where and how.
Help Keep our Recycling Stream Clean
Be proud and help to keep our materials of great quality! When you put non-recyclables (e.g., styrofoam) in with recyclables you create more work for everyone who has to handle the materials and may actually put people at risk with a hazardous substance. These costs add up and makes sorting for markets harder. Take part and get to know all the recycling facts right on this page of our Website!
