Dr. Green has special interest and expertise in forensic psychiatry, particularly in civil issues including:
He has substantial experience working for both the claimant/plaintiff and the defense in personal injury cases. His Fellowship gave him familiarity with psychosomatic, chronic pain, and organic conditions, and their effect on behavior. For over two decades he treated a special group of ex-prisoners of war for the Veterans Administration, giving him a comprehensive background with severe post-traumatic stress disorder patients. He has testified as an expert witness in numerous depositions and trials, along with hearings and arbitration panels.

Added Qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry
Dr. Green is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and completed internship and residency training at the Institute of the Pennsylvania Hospital. This was followed by service as a psychiatrist and drug abuse program coordinator for the US Army in Fort Richardson, Alaska. He completed a fellowship in consultation / liaison psychiatry at the University of California San Diego, and has been in general psychiatric practice since 1975 with a current emphasis on medical-legal work. Dr. Green became a Qualified Medical Evaluator, is active in the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and is President of the San Diego Psychiatric Society. He directs the forensic psychiatry seminar at UCSD and was recently appointed a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
