We at Laurelwood Veterinary Clinic in San Mateo, California are committed to providing quality veterinary care for dogs, cats, rabbits and pocket pets (rodents and other small mammals). We offer full-service medicine, surgery, dentistry, radiology and have access to in-house ultrasonography by a board-certified radiologist. We also do limited boarding for cats and rabbits.
While we do exams by appointment only, emergencies take priority, and we will fit you in if your pet needs to be seen right away. At the same time, we strive to be prompt and see patients on time.
Because there is no one here at night, we do not keep patients in the hospital overnight that need monitoring. We send post-op surgical cases home overnight if stable, or to the emergency clinic if not stable. There are only a very few exceptions to this protocol and we feel our patients do very well.
We are now open until 8 pm, Tuesday evening, for your convenience.
* Changed from previous hours.
Outside of these hours, please see Emergencies.
We are located in the Laurelwood Shopping Center at 1334 Hillsdale Boulevard, near the top of the hill by the College of San Mateo (CSM).
I am Dr. Dani Weber, the owner. I am a 1992 DVM graduate of UC Davis and bought this practice from the former owner, Dr. Cadden, five years ago.
Our staff includes Cindi Kuiper, our receptionist; Carrie Walton, a licensed technician with six years experience; and Robert Gatchel, an on-the-job-trained technician with over 20 years experience.
We offer a separate entrance and waiting room for dogs and another entrance and waiting room for cats, rabbits, and pocket pets. We have a scale in the dog waiting area that clients are welcome to use to weigh their animals at any time.
