Can you believe that it is almost time for the holidays? Each month has an event of its own. Halloween, Thanksgiving and then the month of December has Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza and then New Years Eve. So many things to create: quilts, aprons, table-runners and napkins, pajama bottoms, purses, embroideries, oh my.
If you haven't used your embroidery module in a while, this year's OESD Christmas Collection has some fun and different designs in the collection. Purchase $79 in OESD products and receive the monthly CD as a gift with purchase. We have a few available from previous years for purchase also. Need help in stitch outs? Join us on October 22 at 2:30 pm for help.
Thank you to all who participated in the Scavenger Hunt at the end of the summer. It has given us space for the new fabric that is coming in.
Do you have stack of quilts or just a few in your collection? As quilters, we either work on one project at a time or multiple projects depending upon our mood and creativity level for the day, sometimes you still need more inspiration. Glancing at the clouds floating in the sky or the tumbled clothes coming out of the dryer can spark an idea for a new quilt. Wander into the store for some added inspiration. We are always happy to offer our opinions and share in your projects.
Some of us only like to work with specific genres; others want to try every technique. Some work on one project at a time till it's completely finished. Some have lost count of how many they are in the process of finishing. Some days just sitting in your studio, even if that is a corner of your family room is all we need to relax. No matter, our eyes are drawn to color, design and texture.
If your muse is on vacation, stop by the store and we will share ours.
We are lucky to have Tiffany Hayes who sees a new fabric line and designs a quilt that generates excitement in the store. Other exciting news is that Margaret Vachon's block was chosen to be included in The Rose of Sharon Block Book, winning designs from the EQ6 Challenge. Come into the store to see her name in print.
We have left some open days on the calendar as there is always a class that someone would like to take. During these three months we will be able to make additions. Watch the website and check in the store for any updates. Please keep in mind that you DO NOT have to own a Bernina sewing machine to take our classes (unless it is a Mastery class or specifically indicates so in the class description).
May the rest of the year be filled with the creative muse and may you have free time to pursue your sewing passion. No matter your skill level we appreciate that you allow us to be your sewing room away from home.
