Medical Acupuncture A Brief Description of Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a several thousand year old discipline which originated in China and is now practiced throughout the world. It is commonly used for the treatment of pain and alleviation of symptoms. It involves the placement of very small needles in the body, often in various locations on the arms and legs. Conditions for which acupuncture may be useful include post-operative pain, nausea and vomiting, headache, back pain and spasm, dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, infertility, breech version, hyperemesis of pregnancy, cancer pain and others.
About Dr. Kim:
Chin Se Kim, M.D. is one of the first two board certified internists who hold sports medicine board certificates in Orange County, California. He is a board certified internist, specializing in sports medicine and acupuncture. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California at Los Angeles, School of Medicine.
As medical director of Meridian Sports Medicine, Chin Se Kim, M.D. has focused his practice on musculo-skeletal injury, pain management, electro diagnosis (EMG/NCS), physical therapy and sports medicine and rehabilitation.
