Thompson Painting Co. has been family owned and operated since 1975. Bernie Thompson entered the painting business in 1970, establishing his company in the area of Lake Tahoe, California. In 1975, he received his state of California contractors license, and in 1976 he received his Nevada state contractors license. While painting condominiums, casinos, custom houses, tract homes, ski-area chair lifts and motels, the business grew to over 45 employees. Bernie relocated to San Diego in the early 1980s to be near his family and friends, and that is where he re-established his painting business. In San Diego, our projects have included residential repaintings, steel freeway structures for Cal Trans, commercial buildings, homeowner association projects and custom estate homes.
