Wall To Wall Carpet Cleaning

We adhere to the Standards of the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) which are recognized by all of the major manufacturers and fiber producers.
Mike West is a Past President of the IICRC and has instructed and certified technicians for over 30 years. We offer all of the major cleaning systems to satisfy every need. Our Technicians are all IICRC Certified.

Surface Cleaning, Quick Drying - Our version of "Bonnet Dry Cleaning"
We use a Pre-treat, Cleaning Bonnet, Absorbent Bonnet sequence. This is a surface cleaning system used by numerous franchises and residential cleaners more interested in a quick, easy, inexpensive system which uses a minimum of equipment and training to give a reasonable appearance and quick drying. It gives a good appearance if the carpet isn't too soiled since it is essentially polishing the top of the carpet. It is most effective on short loop commercial carpet and is best used for interim/maintenance type cleaning.
Analogy: Put shampoo on your hair, work it in, and towel it off, without rinsing!

Encapsu Care™
Surface Cleaning, Quick Drying, Soil Resistance - Our version of "Polymer-Encapsulation Cleaning"
This is a new development which incorporates polymer soil retardant technology, (think Scotchgard/Teflon), into a low moisture, no rinse, quick dry system. The results are excellent on short commercial type carpets. Both the fibers and any soil are encapsulated during the cleaning and as a result the carpet releases all of its soil when vacuumed following cleaning. It stays cleaner longer because fresh soil won't stick to the fibers.
Analogy: Put a polymer shampoo on your hair, let it dry, and vacuum it out.

Hydra Care™
Deep Thorough Cleaning - Our version of "Hot Water Extraction" cleaning also known as "Steam Cleaning".
We use the best self contained (we don't use your electricity or water) truck-mounted equipment worth $50,000+. This system pre-treats and then rinse extracts the carpet with a vacuum capable of 210" of water lift and 200 CFM of air movement to prevent any possibility of over wetting. This is the method recommended by most manufacturers of carpet and fibers because it rinses and removes the suspended soil and emulsifiers. It is an effective restorative cleaning process on almost all carpets.
Analogy: Put shampoo on your hair, work it in, rinse it out, and vacuum your hair to dry.

Hy 'N Dry™
Deep Thorough Cleaning, Quick Drying - Our exclusive combination of Hydra Care™ and Dry Care™
This gives the best combination of soil removal and quick drying. It takes a little more time, but the additional step of using the cotton bonnet to absorb any extra moisture or residue missed by the vacuuming pays big dividends in quick drying and even appearance. This is our recommended system for the best cleaning!
Analogy: Put shampoo on your hair, work it in, rinse it out, vacuum it out, and towel it dry.

Traffic Lane Cleaning
Often, the only area that needs cleaning is where the carpet is walked on. We offer special pricing on traffic/open area cleaning. This is an economical way to keep your carpets always looking good. Many of our clients extend the time between full cleanings by having the traffic lanes done every 6-12 months.

Rain Insurance™
During the rainy season some consumers hesitate to clean their carpets even though they really need cleaning. They are afraid that they might resoil in the traffic areas because of wet tracked in soil. This is not only creates an unsightly situation but ground in soil can damage carpet fibers. To encourage cleaning during February, March and April we offer Rain Insurance™ on whole room cleaning. We issue a certificate that allows cleaning of all of the traffic areas in the rooms cleaned for a $49.00 co-payment after the rain stops in June or July.

Scotchgard® or Teflon®
These are fluorochemical treatments which are applied by most manufacturers to help carpets resist soil and stains and stay cleaner longer. While they are not removed during the cleaning process, they will walk or abrade off in the traffic areas. They should be reapplied to keep the fiber protection at its highest level and to allow the carpets to soil less quickly. This is performed after the cleaning process while the carpets are still damp to allow maximum spread and adhesion.

Continuous Clean Care™
For residential or commercial, this is our exclusive program which creates a customized maintenance plan to keep your carpets clean and attractive year round. It usually involves an initial restorative whole area cleaning with Scotchgard® followed by periodic traffic lane interim cleaning and then the carpet is ready for a thorough whole area cleaning at the end of the period, usually 24 months. It is set up as a contract and billed over the period of service to spread the cost over the entire period.

Dirty heating ducts can aggravate allergies, asthma and cause serious health problems.
Mold, mildew, bacteria, dust, dust mites, animal dander and other harmful pollutants build up in your return air, filter, blower, duct work and heating system month after month, year after year. These air ducts can blow disease causing spores into your living environment every day.
Simply Clean Care™ technicians will thoroughly clean your furnace blower system, service or replace your air filters, sweep and vacuum both return and heating ducts, all in one day.
In addition, an E.P.A. approved oxidizing sanitizer can be fogged through the system to sanitize any organics which may be left.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

Plugged dryer vents can lead to fires and always decrease the efficiency of your dryer increasing your energy bill. "The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that in 1998, clothes dryers were associated with 15,600 fires, which resulted in 20 deaths and 370 injuries. Fires can occur when lint builds up in the dryer or in the exhaust duct. Lint can block the flow of air, cause excessive heat build-up, and result in a fire in some dryers."

Clean the lint screen/filter before or after drying each load of clothes.
If clothing is still damp at the end of a typical drying cycle or drying requires longer times than normal, this may be a sign that the lint screen or the exhaust duct is blocked.

Clean the dryer vent and exhaust duct periodically.
Check the outside dryer vent while the dryer is operating to make sure exhaust air is escaping. If it is not, the vent or the exhaust duct may be blocked. To remove a blockage in the exhaust path, it may be necessary to disconnect the exhaust duct from the dryer. Remember to reconnect the ducting to the dryer and outside vent before using the dryer again.

Clean behind the dryer, where lint can build up.
Have a qualified service person clean the interior of the dryer chassis periodically to minimize the amount of lint accumulation. Keep the area around the dryer clean and free of clutter.

Replace plastic or foil, accordion-type ducting material with rigid or corrugated semi-rigid metal duct.
Most manufacturers specify the use of a rigid or corrugated semi-rigid metal duct, which provides maximum airflow. The flexible plastic or foil type duct can more easily trap lint and is more susceptible to kinks or crushing, which can greatly reduce the airflow.

Take special care when drying clothes that have been soiled with volatile chemicals such as gasoline, cooking oils, cleaning agents, or finishing oils and stains.
If possible, wash the clothing more than once to minimize the amount of volatile chemicals on the clothes and, preferably, hang the clothes to dry. If using a dryer, use the lowest heat setting and a drying cycle that has a cool-down period at the end of the cycle. To prevent clothes from igniting after drying, do not leave the dried clothes in the dryer or piled in a laundry basket.

The trend to locate washers and dryers inside the home requiring longer duct runs to vent the dryer have created a greater opportunity for lint build-up and subsequent danger. Simply Clean Care™ technicians use both duct cleaning and the vacuum power of our truck mounted cleaning units to open up these clogged systems. Blockages will reoccur and a regular schedule of cleaning should be considered.

Area Rug Cleaning is performed in the area's only completely equipped plant! In fact, it is the only one between Santa Barbara and San Jose and would cost well over $500,000 to duplicate.
Today at Simply Clean Care™ we clean rugs, carpets, drapes, ducts and floors, but when we started cleaning, over 56 years ago, there wasn't much wall to wall carpeting, just rugs.
In those days we had a sizing floor where the starch was replaced on the backs of Axminister and Wilton area rugs. Today they use latex on the backs so we don't have a sizing floor, but the proper cleaning of fine rugs and Orientals still requires the time honored method. We call it the Rugmaster™ System:

Get out all the loose soil - a vacuum won't do it. We use a Power Duster that can remove up to 10 lbs of soil from a 9 x 12 area rug.
Pretest, to determine color fastness and the best method of cleaning (some types of rugs may require various dry cleaning processes).
Pretreat to remove spots.
Hand clean on our wash floor using mild emulsifiers to separate stubborn or ground in soil from the fibers
Rinse thoroughly to remove soil and emulsifier from front and back using a 16 foot Mor Automatic Rug Washer.
Remove excess moisture using a 16 foot wringer on the Mor machine.
Dry overnight in our humidity controlled 40 pole dry room to avoid mold, souring, browning and other symptoms of slow drying.
Add the finishing touches, grooming, fringes, repairs, Scotchgard®, Moth Treatment, etc.

This simply can't be done in your home, or someone's garage or driveway, even with powerful truck mounted machines. Prices include pick-up and delivery or bring in your rug and save 20%! Please visit our unique plant and we'll be happy to give you a tour.
Pick up and delivery is available or save 20% on cash and carry.

Same day cleaning done right in your home.
We follow the Standards of the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) cleaning of upholstery and fabrics. Mike West has taught Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning for Certification for almost thirty years and this is reflected in our IICRC Certified Technicians. We do most of our cleaning "on-site" but can clean in our plant on difficult fabrics or whites.

As you have no doubt found when doing your personal cleaning of fine clothes, "wet" or water based cleaning will always get them cleaner than "dry" or solvent based cleaning. The typical soil and spills on upholstery responds much better to wet cleaning. If we are dealing with "natural" fibers such as cotton, linen, or wool they would normally want to shrink. The reason we can use this system is the fact that the fabric is held in place on the frame of the item or in the case of cushions, at least in shape by the filling. We use special cleaners and tools to limit the wetness. Well over 90% of upholstery will respond best to wet cleaning and it dries within a few hours.

This is our exclusive extraction process for cleaning upholstery and fabrics. After vacuuming the fabric is pretreated with a special neutral pH emulsifier and agitated with natural protein fiber brushes to separate any soil from the fibers. Then it is rinse extracted using extraction tools designed to work only with the surface material leaving interior fillings dry. No residue is left and the soil and emulsifier are completely rinsed away. This is far more effective than surface methods using foams or shampoos which are not rinsed and which leave both soil and soap in the fabric.

Certain fabrics cannot be wet cleaned without unnecessary risk, usually of dye bleeding or texture change. For these we use a charged solvent system with vacuum extraction. This rinses through the fabric but tends to remove far less soil than a wet system. Our system uses petroleum based odorless mineral spirits with a mild detergent charge. While the industry term is "odorless", reality will tell you that there is a pronounced solvent odor. This will dissipate fairly quickly, but it will depend on good ventilation to completely evaporate.

Leather and Suede
Leather pieces are picked-up and brought to our plant for cleaning. We use special processes, products and procedures to properly clean and preserve natural leathers. The system used will depend on the type of leather and the degree of soiling or use. In some cases where suede has become crushed and shiny it may even require a re-sueding process to restore the texture.
