We assumed all was done correctly. After mother passed away, we received a letter from the California Franchise Tax Board.
Anyone can offer non-medical home aide services or work as a home aide. No license is required. Consumers need to exercise caution when seeking in-home care.
For more than 20 years I was an administrator of long-term care and resident care services. Throughout these years, I maintained a strong reputation for service quality.
We strive to meet each of these ten standards continully for each client.
1. Your needs are systematically assessed to create an individualized service plan.

Having in-home assistance allows you to maintain control over things important to you. You remain in familiar surroundings, in touch with family, friends, and even pets. You keep your own routines. All of your possessions are available to you.
We adapt our services and schedules to meet your needs. First, we learn what services you want us to provide, and how often. You may have services for as little as one hour each week. We also review with you the type of staff members available for you.
After learning your needs, we propose a task list and schedule for services you requested along with the weekly fee. We believe you will find our services to be valuable and affordable.
Each staff member has received a thorough review of their past employment, their current level of skills, their integrity, and their desire to assist seniors. We use the same care in selecting staff for you as we would for selecting staff to assist our family members.
All our staff members are bonded for their actions. We orient them to our practices for accomplishing assignments and to our standards of dependability and courtesy. Before they begin an assignment with you, we review with them the services you requested and ensure they can accomplish them.
Beforeour care givers begin an assignment, one of our Service Coordinators reviews your service plan with them to confirm they have the skills for the assignment. The Coordinator then arranges an introduction so you can meet the care giver, usually a day before the first day of the assignment. After the assignment begins, our service coordinator contacts you to learn if your needs and expectations were met.
Coordinators routinely meet with clients once or twice each month, and evaluate the service you are receiving. If changes are needed they communicate those changes to the care giver. Inturn, each care givers performance is reviewed each month, and they receive a substantial reward when achieving our established standards.
When comparing in-home care providers, compare more than hourly rates. Consider performance too.
Our care givers have been asked to join our staff because they have shown themselves to be capable, dependable, and trustworthy. Our care givers receive some of the highest wages paid by legitimate companies on the central coast, plus paid time off, health insurance, generous travel allowances, and more. This allows us to attract and retain the best.
Capable, well paid, properly directly and supervised care givers are productive and reliable. Our care givers will accomplish much in a two-hour daily visit. This is about half the minimum time many agencies will schedule. While they may have a lower hourly rate, their daily and weekly cost is substantially greater. Thus, performance has value.
