If the alternative to bankruptcy is spending the next 10 or 20 years of your life paying off bills, you need to consider your bankruptcy options. While a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy will affect your credit to a degree, if you are in default on many bills, your credit score is already suffering.
