L.A. Stevens and Associates, Inc is a full service Land Surveying firm representing public, private, and commercial clients throughout the Bay Area since 1991. We have specific expertise in Marin County. The employees of L.A. Our office is located on the Southern most tip of Novato and serves the Counties of Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Lake, Mendocino, San Francisco, Contra Costa, and Alameda.
Mr. Stevens owns one of the largest collections of archive maps and unrecorded documents of properties throughout Marin County. Access to these records gives us a distinct advantage in locating and verifying monuments and markers from original surveys performed since the 1890s, leading to a more accurate survey for our clients. The use of these records affords added security for our clients should your survey ever be contested in a legal dispute.
Mr. Stevens held the office of President of the Marin County chapter of the California Land Surveyors Associationin 2005and 2006 and has been an active member since 1990. He is a founding member of the Land Surveyors Advisory Council on Technical Standards, whose purpose is to research, review, debate and publish opinions and decisions issued by local, state and federal courts whenever they relate to the practice of land surveying. The opinions issued are intended to define and guide the standard of care in California and serve to educate fellow professionals. (Larry) Stevens is recognized by the courts and the legal profession as an expert witness and is called upon to testify in disputes involving land survey issues, unrelated to L.A. Stevens & Associates, Inc., due to his firms unique position in the industry and widely recognized professional expertise.
