Susanne is a CERTIFIED APPRAISER in good standing with the CERTIFIED APPRAISERS GUILD of AMERICA; one of the top four appraisal organizations in North America that tests and trains their appraisers. CAGA is the largest trainer of Personal Property Appraisers in North America. For the past five years, Susanne has been an ACCREDITED APPRAISER with the INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY of APPRAISERS. Expert Appraisal Services specializes in Appraisal of PERSONAL PROPERTY including Residential Contents, Decorative Arts, Art, Antiques, Collectibles, Machinery & Equipment, Business Inventory, and Business Equipment. We offer Estate Evaluations, Liquidation Referrals, Research, Consultation and Identification. Professional Written Appraisals are needed for: Divorce Settlements, Estate Disbursements, Probate, Damage Claims, Insurance, Charitable Contributions, Law Enforcement, Bankruptcy, Liquidation, Collateral and Business Insurance.

A written appraisal is made by initially conducting an on-site inspection and preparing a hand-written description of the property along with photographs. Later, the descriptions are finalized, necessary research is conducted and the appropriate values are assigned.

Appraisals are formal reports that give you information you need in a complete and organized way. They are standardized, comprehensive and thoroughly researched. They include comparables of similar items with documentation when available. They cover market trends.
They are written in a way which relates to the purpose and function of each individual appraisal need.

An appraisal is considered a legal document if it is written by a certified or accredited appraiser.

Three type-written copies of the appraisal report are then prepared. One original and two copies. You receive the original and one copy and Expert Appraisal Services retains one copy for our files for future reference if needed. Additional copies may be purchased. We also keep a copy of your report, comps and photos, on a CD which is kept in a secure fire-proof safe indefinately.

If upon our preliminary examination of your item, we find that the value does not warrant a professional appraisal, you will be advised at that time and only charged for your initial visit-a minimum 1 hour fee.

Susanne grew up at Valley Equipment Company, a business owned by her father. She learned alot about equipment.

A qualified appraiser has a formal education in appraisal methodology, theory, principles, procedures, ethics and appraisal law. The appraiser should be up to date on the latest appraisal standards put forth by their Appraisal Organization and USPAP (Uniform Standards for Professional Appraisal Practice). Continuing education and testing are the only ways to ensure this competence. A trained appraiser knows how to evaluate an item for its approximate worth. Arriving at a value can be a complicated journey. An understanding of marketplace definitions and appropriate uses are key.

The Gavigan Family owns and operates the Wishbone Corral in Shasta County, CA. Susanne can appraise your ranch personal property including equipment, tack, horses, dogs, vehicles, round pens and just about anything else you might have around the ranch.
