Coyote Ridge Stable has been in business for over 15 years. Owned and operated by Sue Lund and Sally Ellis, who along with several of the horses volunteer their time with the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Mounted Search and Rescue. Sally has a Masters degree in Education and teaches full time, but spends her weekends horsing around. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Sue, a biology major, enthusiastically shares her extensive knowledge of Mojave desert flora and fauna with riders as their trail guide. Most of our horses are Search and Rescue certified and are available by request for trail rides. We believe that horses and people can have a safe and enjoyable time together. Our horses are treated humanely and with respect, they are rotated so that each horse gets two days off a week and once a year the whole herd takes a vacation to Disneyland. Their favorite ride is Space Mountain. Seriously, our horses are happy, healthy and well-behaved because they have a great benefits package that includes dental, vision and regular pedicures.

Welcome to Coyote Ridge Stable!
Coyote Ridge Stable is located just 20 minutes north of Palm Springs, California. Our guided trail rides take you through the canyons of Morongo Valley, with beautiful views of the San Gorgonio mountains and Mt. San Jacinto. At 3200 ft. elevation our mountainous terrain offers abundant wildlife and plant species. Experience magnificent golden eagles, red tailed hawks, and kestrels soaring high above, or perhaps see coyote pups at play, and listen to covies of Gambel's quail chirping under the cover of creosote bushes.
All of our rides are accompanied by a guide to ensure the safety of our guests and horses.
Because horseback riding has inherent risks, injuries can still occur.

Two-hour private ride with just you and the guide. If you enjoy the quiet of the surrounding mountains and want to spend time enjoying your family or friends, this is the ride to go on.
Ride Time: 2 hours

This is our most popular ride. Mingle with desert wildlife while ambling down the trail. Wade into Coyote Creek and give your horse a cool drink of water or a nibble of grass. Great photo opportunities.

In all honesty, this is our most popular ride. Voted BEST OUTDOOR FACILITY by Throne magazine. According to the latest GALLOP poll, this is the most photographed outhouse in the West. Seriously, its worth the trip.
Ride Time: As long as it takes

Short on time? Then you should consider our Canyon Ride. This is a great introduction to desert scenery and to horseback riding in general.
Ride Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes

Geared for the experienced rider only. Climb hillsides, cross washes, and ride along Coyote Ridge as we blaze our own trail. The terrain is rugged, the adventure is high, and the fun never stops. This ride is highly recommended for the skilled equestrian. The cost of this ride is more as the horses cannot be used again that day because of the strenuous nature of this ride.
Ride Time: 2, 3, or 4 hours
Skill Level: Advanced
Price: $130.00 per person for the first 2 hours, $45.00 per additional hour

Enjoy a romantic evening under the stars with that special someone in your life. This ride is only possible 3-4 days a month when the moon is full. Please contact us for scheduled dates. Departure times vary. Please call or e-mail for more details.
Ride Time: 1-1/2 hours

Roy's Bunk House
Roy's Bunkhouse is just down the road a piece from our stable. A great place for a quiet get-away, the bunkhouse is a turnkey studio with great views of the valley and the starry skys above. Sit on the porch and listen to coyotes howl as you relax in the solitude of a high desert evening.
