Welcome to my website!
Presumably you are trying to find a therapist suited to your particular needs. I want to help you make that important decision by being as open as I can be about myself and how I work.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT), practicing psychotherapy in Newport Beach, CA. My areas of experience and expertise are in Trauma Recovery, Adults Abused as Children (physical, sexual, and emotional), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Domestic Violence, as well as Anger Management, Divorce Recovery, Marital Therapy, Depression, Stress Reduction, Anxiety, and Spiritual Issues.
People come to me for many reasons having to do with their work, personal growth and relationships. Some need powerful techniques such as EMDR or Hypnosis to help quickly eliminate a specific problem. For some, the need is for long-term Psychoanalysis or Psychodynamic therapy for deep inner healing and change. For others, it is support during a time of deepening spirituality. Each person's needs are unique, and I try to find what works for the individual.
Below I have listed some of the challenges that often come up for my clients and the ways I work with individuals. I hope this information will help you decide if I'm the right therapist for you.
Change is never easy and I am uplifted each day by the courage and motivation of my clients to challenge negative patterns, the trauma of the past, and the problematic issues of daily living. Because I view each client as unique I am pragmatic in my approach and use a variety of therapeutic methods in my work to assist couples, individuals and groups grow in ways that enhance their lives and their relationships. Some of these methods include:
My office is a five-minute drive from John Wayne Airport and close to the 73 Toll Road. I chose my office location because of its peaceful and safe atmosphere. My clients find it a calm and comfortable sanctuary. I see a variety of individuals and couples and groups. Some of my clients work with me by phone.
Because of the ever-changing nature of my field, I involve myself in ongoing training and continuous learning of new ways to help and support my clients as they achieve their life and relationships goals. See my rsum for a list of trainings, educational seminars and workshops I have attended.
I have over twenty-five years of business, training, university, hospital, and private practice experience, a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from National University and a Doctorate in Psychology and Psychoanalysis from The Newport Center for Psychoanalytic Studies. I am licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC37450).
Please feel welcome to give me a call or email me. I can answer questions more meaningfully when I know something about your specific issues. If we seem like a good fit, the next step would be to meet in person or set up a phone session.
