In 1986, she confronted a tragedy that would change her life. She was called to care for an immigrant whose tongue had been surgically removed – by mistake! The hospital had switched lab test results with another patient.
Compelled to help people like this to recover damages, she enrolled in law school, graduated and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1989. She has served as a Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County, as Judge Pro Tem and mediator for San Bernardino County, and as house counsel for a major insurance company. She opened her own practice in 1994.
