Blue Oaks Country Home is a private residential assisted-care home that provides custodial, non-medical care to both ambulatory and non-ambulatory elderly residents.

Blue Oaks Country Home was first licensed in Newcastle in 1999. We have re-licensed and re-located to beautiful Grass Valley in May 2006. We are also hospice approved.

Blue Oaks Country Home is dedicated to providing daily living assistance to our residents in a manner which preserves dignity and worth.

Our home accommodates six ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents age 60+ in three comfortably furnished bedrooms. The house also features ample living space including a living room with satellite TV, a craft area, and a large dining room. A large back porch is planned to overlook the loveliness of the property.

Blue Oaks Country Home offers a variety of basic services including:

Three nutritious meals and 2 to 3 snacks daily. Special diets prescribed by a doctor can also be accommodated.
Arranging and assisting with medical and dental care appointments and transportation.
Laundry service(excluding dry-cleaning charges.)

Assistance with daily living which may include dressing, grooming, bathing.
Transportation to church services within a 15 mile radius.
Arranging and assisting with beauty shop appointments and shopping.

Blue Oaks Country Home is located in Grass Valley, California, just north of Auburn. Built in 2006, our home has 2800 sq.ft. and stands on a full 10 acres with beautiful oak trees, pets and farm animals.

From the Administrator:
When my own mother could no longer safely live by herself, I realized how difficult and frightening it was for her to face the possibility of losing her independence. I did not want that to happen. Although she occasionally needed some assistance, she was still capable of doing many things on her own. Convalescent care was not a desirable option, and a large retirement facility did not suit her. She lived with me, and while I was available to assist with her needs, she had been able to preserve her independence and her pride. We cared for my mom until her passing in August 2002. We also cared for my mother-in-law until her passing a year later.
True to our country name, our property is also home to my family of sheep, goats, chickens, dogs and cats. My trusty llamas, Grandiose and Billy Holliday, guard over the sheep, and my miniature horse, Pocket Rocket, enjoys the attention from grandchildren and grandparents alike. I love animals, and it pleases me to be surrounded by them! One of my greatest joys is sipping my coffee on the back porch and enjoying the view, sights and sounds of nature.

Though licensed as an assisted living facility, it is my goal to make our residents know that this is their home. They are always welcome and included in any celebrations I may have at the house, and I eagerly encourage friends and relatives to visit often.
Blue Oaks Country Home is the realization of a dream: a Home surrounded by nature, and filled with love and dignity of family and friends! I am grateful for the blessing and the opportunity to share it!
