California is currently under attack by the pest Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter Homalodisca coagulata (GWSS). Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter carries the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa, which causes a number of plant diseases, including Pierce's disease of Grapes, Almond scorch, and Oleander leaf scorch. California is being invaded by the pest Light Brown Apple Moth Epiphyas postvittana (LBAM). The Light Brown Apple Moth has no natural enemies and can destroy grapes, citrus, stone fruit(peaches, plums, nectarines, cherries, apricots) and many others. The complete host list contains well over 1,000 plant species and more than 250 fruits and vegetables.
