San Diego Divorce Lawyers
When handled correctly, a divorce does not have to be an emotionally traumatizing event. An experienced San Diego divorce lawyer is able to help the client set realistic goals, provide all the necessary information that accompanies the divorce process, and allow the client to maintain some control over the sometimes overwhelming dissolution. In addition, a San Diego divorce lawyer, such as The Edmunds Law Firm, can evaluate both the short-term changes that are necessary in the divorce process and assess long-term goals that can involve (among other things) issues of custody.
Q. If I have no money and am unemployed, can I file for a divorce?
A. Yes. There are provisions for a fee waiver. There is specialized paperwork that must be completed and submitted to the court, requesting a fee waiver of filing fees.
Q. Are military divorces treated differently in the courts?
A. An individual that is active duty military brings special issues to a civilian court that is handling their divorce. Military pay and allowances is one area that presents different issues. Also, child custody and visitation issues are a significant issue when dealing with a parent that may be active duty.
Q. Can I get a National Security Clearance without a job offer?
A. No. All individuals that seek a National Security Clearance must have a sponsor. The employer will sponsor the applicant and provide the SF86 Application.
On June 16, 2010, the Edmunds Law Firm received written notification of a favorable decision made by the Administrative Judge in a security clearance matter. The hearing for this matter was held in Chicago, Illinois on March 26, 2010. In this case there were security concerns pertaining to Guideline B - Foreign Influence and Guideline C - Foreign Preference. The evidence showed that the applicant was born in Iran and revewed her Iranian passport to travel there in 2004, 2006 and 2008. Applicant also contacted family members in Iran periodically, which raised several security concerns. Attorney Edmunds was able to demonstrate through witness testimony and documentary evidence that the Applicant was trustworthy and met the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Upon consideration of the evidence presented, the Administrative Judge found that it was clearly consistent with the national interests to grant Applicant's security clearance.
