Since 1992, Dance Studio No.1 has been serving the Westside of Los Angeles. Having already established a very successful dance studio in her native Sweden (the original Dansstudion No.1 is a successful dance studio to this day), founder and artistic director, Elizabeth Banke, opened the doors to her new studio in Los Angeles, California with the dream of building a thriving dance school with a focus on technique, tradition, and the love of dance.

Today, Dance Studio No.1 is well-known for its strong and successful Classical Ballet Program; its fun and endearing Young Childrens Program; as well as being a home away from home for many young ballet dancers and their families in West Los Angeles.

Dance Studio No.1 is committed to offering well-designed dance programs that carefully consider each student's developmental age, motor skills, capabilities, and interests. Whether you select a once-a-week recreational childrens dance class, or to be part of our year-round, pre-professional, Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) classical ballet program, we want to instill a love of dance in all of our students. We strive to allow each individual to develop as an artist, while nurturing a sense of pride and accomplishment every step of the way.

We are proud to have been featured in Los Angeles Magazine's, Best of Los Angeles, "Hall of Fame" as an "exceptionally qualified Dance School." Our staff of experienced, highly trained teaching professionals is passionate about the performing arts. We are a dance school that value the very best in performing arts education and strive to ensure that our students enjoy coming to our studio.
