Buyers who have owned their current home at least five years, as well as first time homebuyers, are are now eligible for a $6500 tax break if they purchase a home for less than $800,000 before June 30 2010. "This is probably the last extention," said Sen.Johnny Isakson R-Ga., a former real estate executive who championed the credits. If you've been thinking of upgrading or downgrading your home and your replacement home is less than $800,000, you will save $6500 in tax next year.
