Keeping your oil changed is the simplest way to prolong the life of your car. Although your owners manual may suggest you change your oil at intervals of 5000-7500 miles. Although this will keep your warranty in tact, it’s not necessarily the best thing for the life of your cars engine.
As technology has increased, oil viscosity’s have changed, and so has the oil companies ability to engineer higher quality oil. This is a fact that we cannot dismiss, however, not all drivers and driving conditions are the same. This is something that your owners manual cannot tell you.
At Don’s Import Car Clinic we continue to recommend that you change your oil more frequently than the manufactures state. To achieve the best results we find that changing your engine oil every 3000-4000 miles will greatly increase the life of your engine.
