Barbara Dobrin, Ph.D., ART, CET-BC, MFT. Barbara’s first art therapy group started in 1974 in Pacific Palisades, California, with four other groups following in 1975. Barbara believes that the creative process is very important in healing and change for her clients. Her work revolves around using the creative process from crisis to creativity to productivity. Barbara’s training is extensive in Art Therapy, Expressive Arts, Gestalt, group Process and Marriage, Family and Child Therapy. She brings her skills to the work to facilitate awareness, healing and change. She has had extensive training through the Professional Institute of Regression Therapy, Gestalt Institute of Los Angeles.

Training and supervision for certification/registration – art therapy, creative and expressive arts therapies, and marriage, family and child counseling.

Barbara holds a B.A. in Art (Ceramics), M.A. in Art (Sculpture), M.A. in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, and a PhD in Psychology with emphasis on humanistic psychology and art.
Barbara Dobrin has been a working artist for most of her life as a potter and sculptor. Early interests include theatre work as an actress and director on radio and television. She has been a golf champion and continues to play non-competitve golf as meditation.
