Until recently, Americans on the go faced the dilemma of what to do with their "pet family" while they were out of town. As an alternative to the usual board and care facility-the kennel-many owners are now choosing to keep their pets in less stressful surroundings at home. At home, they can enjoy the comfort and familiarity of their daily routine, and exposure to illness is reduced because contact with other animals is eliminated.
Owners who are concerned about pet care and property safety turn to Pet-Tenders, the largest and most experienced in-home pet-sitting service in San Diego County. The advantage of utilizing a larger company vs. a one person or a smaller operation? There are countless benefits. The most important one is--in the event there was an emergency with your particular sitter while you were out of town, Pet-tenders always has another professional pet-sitter to pick up where your sitter left off. Our comprehensive contract covers every aspect of your pet-sitting service so another sitter can take over. Your pets will always be cared for with us. We also do not close our doors for vacation or illness-reassuring you once again, we are always there. Pet-tenders services are often imitated but never duplicated. We want you to have peace of mind while you are gone and we do our very best to provide that. Pet-Tenders services clients north to Encinitas (92024), south to Chula Vista, east to El Cajon and west to the beaches1.
Pet-Tenders loving care givers take responsibility for feeding, walking, cleaning up litter boxes and yards, changing cage paper, administering medication2and above all, spoiling your furry and feathered friends!
Pet-Tenders will also water plants, bring in mail and newspapers, alternate lights, open and close draperies, and set alarm systems so that the home appears occupied - an important consideration when you are away for an extended period of time.
Pet-Tenders takes pride in its reputation for superior care. Established in July of 1983, the company is city licensed and bonded. Pet-Tenders maintains a notebook of extensive credentials, including more than 250 unsolicited letters of recommendation from satisfied clients, and articles in publications such as: the Union-Tribune, LA Times, Income Opportunities, Star News, San Diego Magazine, Animal Press, New Business Opportunities (owned by Entrepreneur Magazine), North Jersey News, Blade Citizen, Gazette and The Valley Voice* (for a complete list of articles and listings-see owner's Curriculum Vitae below). Pet owners can be assured that outstanding performance has been the firm's hallmark for more than 20 years.
You can use Pet-Tenders' services for vacations, weekend getaways, holidays, business trips, single visits, family or business emergencies pet care while you are injured or ill and checking on sick pets while you are at work.
They provide drop-by visits once or twice daily (three times for special needs pets) and house-sitting (overnight) services in select zip codes. For your pet's health, safety and emotional well-being every other day care is not provided.
If you decide to contract with Pet-Tenders, it is preferable to call at least 4-10 days ahead of the first time you utilize the services (during the holidays, 2-3 weeks). This time frame is needed so the pet-sitter3 who will be taking care of your pets, can contact you and set up a time to meet with you and your beloved companions4. Keeping your home security as a priority, it is Pet-Tenders policy that all pet-sitter's cars, while on the job, will not have any identifying signs or marks, which may alert others to your absence.
