The holidays you have dreaded are approaching. At every turn, you are faced with your heartache and loss. Every conversation about family gatherings, every television commercial, every sentimental greeting card, each is a crippling reminder of the pain you bear after the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of job or home, surgery, spouse or child in Iraq, etc.
I will facilitate a presentation and discussion this coming Thursday. No preregistration is required, and all are welcome regardless of religious affiliation.

A Eucharistic Minister visits daily at Valley Care. It is now necessary to specifically state that you want visits from your church ministers while in the hospital. Merely stating that you are Catholic will not guarantee you a visit.
If no visit has occurred after one day in the hospital, please notify your nurse of this oversight. Be persistent! If you are too sick to be your own advocate, please tell a friend or family member.
We want to support you during these challenging times and will continue to strive to do so. If you have any questions, please contact Marilyn Lemm at marilyn@JLLemm.com or Pam Campion at pamcampion@comcast.net
On Sunday, November 7, the Catholic Community of Pleasanton (CCOP) Basketball Teams will open the season! All 65 teams, coaches, referees, and families have been invited to participate in a special CCOP Spirit Day at the 9:00 AM Mass at St Elizabeth Seton. Please invite everyone you know, especially those associated with the youth organization, to show up with their Orange Uniforms and attire for this event.
We want to personally give tribute to Rick Hankins and Greg Thome who have been co-CYO Athletic Directors for the past 25 years and have recently retired to pass the baton to our new leadership team managed by Rich Martin and five other parish members. Rick and Greg, who both pioneered the CCOP basketball program, have demonstrated outstanding leadership and true Christian values for generations to follow.
Concern America Saturday and Sunday, November 13 and 14, after all Masses. Volunteers from Concern America will return with unique, quality handcrafts that provide us with the opportunity to purchase conscientiously. The purchase of these products provide a source of income to materially poor communities, promoting human scale endeavors, eco-friendly work patterns and fair working conditions. You may view a selection of their crafts at www.concernamerica.org.
