Food waste has a great impact on the environment and a huge loss of the resources necessary for its production: water, agricultural land and energy. 

Have you thought about all that is lost when you throw food away? The energy and water to produce it, to transport it, to store it and finally, to manage the waste. And all this expense will have been for nothing.

Almost  a third of the food, approximately 1,300 million tons,  that is produced per year  in the world  for human consumption  is lost or wasted , according to the United Nations Food Organization (FAO).
