About
Steven M. Rubin dedicates his profession to promoting the rights of individuals in the workplace. He got a degree Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University before entering USC Law Center where he graduated in 1979 when he 1st became a member of the State Bar of California. He is admitted to practice in federal courts across the State and also the United States Supreme Court. He practiced international and regulatory law for many years before ultimately establishing his own employment law practice in Los Angeles exclusively embodying employees. For over twenty years he has been filing lawsuits on behalf of employees in state and federal courts throughout California in wrongful termination, disability and cancer discrimination, gender and pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation and employee wage-hour disputes (e.g., misclassification and unpaid overtime). He has been connected with bringing a top workplace wage and hour case before the California Supreme Court. He has expertly handled hundreds of severance negotiations, and regularly litigates discrimination, whistleblower and sexual harassment cases into substantial cash award settlements for his clients, often early enough in the process so that the benefits are experienced without having the costs, uncertainty and anxiety that goes along with years of trial and appellate litigation. Some recent settlements are listed here. Clients often feel empowered by their experience as explained here.
Steve regularly handles arbitrations under a variety of providers just like AAA, ADR, and Jams; and has wide experience with mediation and creative approaches to alternate dispute resolution. Most of all, he has shown a special aptitude for wonderfully and efficiently bringing employers to the table to engage in the early negotiation of disputes.
His firm's practice includes representation of corporate executives, highly paid professionals and managers and also each imaginable occupation from nurses, medical technicians, and bar tenders, to account executives, salesman, and retail associates in big box retailers. What these people have in common is that they are victims of whistleblower retaliation, sexual harassment, fmla/disability discrimination, and other wrongs and discrimination in the workplace. The firm always deals with all matter of workplace disputes,, often through expeditious and confidential pre-trial negotiations that do not leave a file for future employers.
