One Heart, But More to Think About
When people think about vascular disease, they usually think of heart disease. Vascular disease, however, can take on many different forms because the heart and other blood vessels are all part of the same circulatory system. Blockage in your heart arteries may cause chest pain or a heart attack. Blockage in peripheral arteries (blood vessels outside the heart and brain) can also result in serious health problems, such as disabling leg pain, stroke and insufficient blood flow (ischemia) to various organs such as bowel or kidney and other types of limb-threatening ischemia. Vascular disease can also cause an aortic or peripheral artery aneurysm (a bulging in the blood vessel) or aortic dissection (acute split or disruption of the layers of the artery).
Atherosclerotic related problems in the outlying "peripheral" blood vessels are just as important as problems of the heart arteries. We offer a wide range of advanced treatment options tailored to each patient's individual needs. Our unique approach to vascular care is based on our philosophy of saving life and limb through screenings, education and cutting-edge endovascular and open surgical treatments.
The multidisciplinary team at VISOC work closely with your primary care physician to ensure that your vascular care is complementary to any existing health-related issues. This care continues even after initial treatment to provide lifetime support for a healthy vascular system.
