Inspire Malibu is an evidence-based, non-12 step addiction treatment center specializing in drug and alcohol rehab in southern California. We offer the most comprehensive addiction treatment program in the United States.

We are uniquely experienced in safe, comfortable detox, and dual diagnosis (co-occurring disorders) of addiction combined with mental health issues such as depression, bipolar, anxiety, and PTSD. While many treatment centers do not work with dual-diagnosis patients, we have board-certified psychiatrists and addiction specialists on staff to accommodate addiction and mental health.

Because we are a non-12 step facility, we utilize medication assisted treatment therapy for detox and certain addictions when necessary. Medication assisted therapy is currently the most successful form of treatment for opioid and heroin addiction.

Our founder, Dr. Akikur Mohammad, M.D., is board-certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Mohammad serves as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine. He is also the Director of Medical Education at the LAC/USC Medical Center's Psychiatric Emergency Services department.

As a secular, evidence-based treatment facility, we provide a wide variety of proven therapies outside of the scope of traditional 12 step meetings. We are not opposed to the 12 steps for aftercare maintenance and relapse prevention, but for treatment we prefer approaches with a substantiated success rate.

We understand that every person is unique, and so are the circumstances leading to their addiction. We preform a full medical assessment before beginning any treatment regimen. After that, each of our clients works with an individualized plan that focuses on their specific needs.

We combine one on one and group therapy to maximize results, and tailor other therapies to fit each person's substance abuse recovery.

We have two private facilities in Malibu and Agoura Hills to optimize the comfort and security of our clientele. Both of our houses have a high staff to client ratio for inpatient, residential treatment lasting 30 days at a minimum. For some, their stay with us might be 60 or 90 days if needed.

Our IOP and PHP outpatient programs are ideal for those who require extra help after they complete a residential program, and for others who do not require a full residential program.

We offer SMART Recovery at our facility for aftercare maintenance and relapse prevention.
