“The cameras only job is to get out of the way of making photographs”
It has been the passion and commitment of Dick Hixson to provide the Bay Area with quality commercial and advertising photography for over 30 years. One of the things that I pride myself on, and what my clients tell me that I often show, is the ability to think outside the box to produce results that are often beyond what my clients expect. To me commercial and advertising photography demands that I get up close and personal with the subject. I first need to know what it’s used for, how it’s used, and when does it get used. Just what is the most important aspect of the subject? What makes it different from it’s competitors? Whether I am photographing products, people, architecture, or industry, I work with dynamic and creative people who collaborate with me to produce results that are both effective and powerful. Using light, shadows, reflectors, and color I am able to define and accentuate the best qualities that my subject has to offer. To me, commercial photography is a clear and simple photograph that shows the subject in it’s best light. Advertising, on the other hand tells a story about an important attribute that the subject possesses.
