Alumna Approved to Sit for the Kentucky Bar in February 2011

UWLA extends its congratulations to alumna KAREN BROCKENBROW, Class of '98, on being approved to sit for the Kentucky Bar Examination in February 2011. We wish her the best of luck! (Ms. Brockenbrow is currently a member of both the California and Oregon Bars.)

The University Of West Los Angeles School Of Law has changed my life, that of my family’s, and perhaps for generations to come.

Deciding to switch gears midstream and pursue a career in law is one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time.

For me, law school was a “put up or shut up” proposition. I was a single mom with a “going-nowhere” job. I didn’t have a bachelor’s degree so I had to jump through a few extra hoops to attend law school, but they were well worth it.
