Nestled among the redwoods on Arcata's Fickle Hill, Cats' Cradle is a sprawling mid-twentieth century classic home with floor-to-ceiling view windows in the major living areas. A private world awaits you at the end of a street in a serene neighborhood. A large off-street security lighted parking area greets you, giving little hint of the peaceful gardens and the newly restored forest glen to the rear of the property.
Just down the street is Arcata's Redwood Park and 600-acre Community Forest. Less than a mile away is the downtown plaza with its interesting shops, bead-stringing store, book stores, theaters, coffeehouses and unique restaurants. Humboldt University with its Center Arts Program and many activities is just on the other side of Redwood Park. Arcata Marsh and Wildlife sanctuary is a short distance south of the downtown area.
Arcata is on California's redwood coast in Northern Humboldt County. A cool coastal climate prevails year-round. Our country home is a quiet getaway catering to book lovers, nature enthusiasts, birders, HSU visitors, walkers (we're next door to the community forest), foodies and other neat people. Take time to smell the roses and listen to the sounds of nature, not the roar of traffic.
