We have machines for your to use in class if you do not have an embroidery machine.

This ripple look gives the handbag the added flair we want in a bag. In class you'll learn how to create the ripple by using a fun and easy pleating technique.

Karen, Kari, and I had so much fun making pinecone elves this evening. We made ours no-sew by using glue instead of hand sewing those tiny mittens and shoes. And, we used our new felting machine to felt our own wool for the accessories.

Michelle's Design Fan Club Workshop
We had sew much fun in Michelle Griffith's two-day workshop this past weekend. We learned how to make our own piping and how to do entredeux, pintucking, machine embroidery, and bobbinwork. Michelle demonstrated each technique and gave us lots of tips. At the end of the second day nearly everyone had completed the Travel Bag and Vintage Sachet.

We had some extra time Sunday afternoon, so Michelle showed us how easy it is to felt with the Pfaff Felting machine. Kathy, Peggy, and Andi turned the demo into a pretty little pillow complete with embroidered metallic accents, crocheted trim, and ribbon bow.

I was the "go fer" for this class, so I can't wait to sit down this week and make my own Travel Bag. Come on by and I'll be happy to show you what I'm working on.

Sew Creative Embroidery Club
On December 4th, club members will be meeting from 1:30 to 8:30 or ??? to work on the final two projects, Little Clutch and Decorative Pouch, in the Return to Romance book by Michelle Griffith. Pfaff has a new sewing machine that is perfect for quilters and sewers. We all had a chance to sit down and sew with it. There are lots of features including 9mm wide stitches and a dual feeding foot.

Pfaff and Viking have an Embroidery Cutwork Needle Kit that includes 4 cutwork needles, a needle insertion tool, and a CD with 5 free designs. There are new design packs available, too!

Pfaff and Viking have a new 200mm x 200mm hoop which is about 8" square. Kathy and Carolyn got to use this hoop in their classes. Kathy made a pretty pieced placemat with decorative stitches and embroidery. Carolyn used this hoop to do embroidery and embroidery applique on a cute sweatshirt jacket for little girls. More designs are available in new design packs for Pfaff and Viking. Quilter's will love being able to quilt their projects in the hoop!!!

Cottage Quilts is one of the participating stores for American Patchwork and Quilting's 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. Bring in a completed pillowcase and we will display it in our store window before sending it off to a deserving youth or senior organization. We have a free pattern in our store and pillowcase making workshops!
