Diane DuBois is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving Oakland, Montclair in the East Bay. She is a couples therapy specialist offering marriage counseling and family therapy.
Marriage counseling consists of helping partners enhance their communication and conflict resolution skills. Diane also assists clients in looking at deeper issues that may be underlying their problems.
Diane has worked with hundreds of individuals in depression therapy, focusing on areas such as low self esteem, shyness, grief and relationship issues.
Additionally, for many years she was a group facilitator for individuals with mental health issues at St. Luke's Hospital in Oakland and San Francisco. She currently co-teaches a "Basic Training for Couples" workshop for the Piedmont Adult School in Oakland.
Diane has a very compassionate, accepting and gentle style. Her clients often comment on how comfortable they feel with her. She assists clients in setting clear goals at the beginning of the therapy process, and as a result, is able to help them resolve their issues more quickly.
Diane received her B.A. in Philosophy in 1983 from U.C. Berkeley. She attended graduate school at John F. Kennedy University, and graduated as one of the top students in her class, with a Clinical Psychology degree in 1988. While in graduate school, Diane was one of a small group of students selected by the faculty to receive advanced training in couples and family therapy.
