Our employees work hard to create a friendly home environment for your children while setting a solid educational foundation for your childs future. Ages 2-12.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
We seek to encourage in each child a natural love of learning, positive social skills and a healthy self-image, in a safe and caring environment.
As children develop, in age and understanding, we will provide activities and experiences appropriate to their stages of development. and opportunities to venture out into the community on field trips under the supervision of watchful and qualified teachers.
PLAY SMART, LEARN SMART, START SMART!
In our work with children, we use methods and materials from many highly respected sources such as Montessori, Piaget and Gesell. A variety of approaches to learning, plus a well-balanced developmentally appropriate program, brings a wide range of experiences into each day. Children attending our Private Preschool, Jr. k., Kindergarten and Elementary School have the advantage of small classes and more individualized attention.
A BIT OF HISTORYWOODSIDE SCHOOLS, privately owned and operated, were founded by Patricia Dumbadse in June 14, 1974 in order to offer children a type of early childhood education appropriate for their many differing stages of development, along with child care services at the same sites.
Woodside West School was added in April 1981, in 1984, Kindergarten and Elementary classes were held temporarily in a classroom rented from a Methodist church, until our new building was completed in March 1985 and licensed for 100 children. The elementary school was expanded to include grades 1st-6th.
OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF......are independent and resourceful people who care about children and are interested in providing children with happy and meaningful early school experiences. We value their enthusiasm and recognize the important and invaluable parts they play in the lives of all your children and families. They include individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds from credentialed teachers, specialists in Early Childhood Education, preschool teachers with years of experience. former public school aides, college students in the process of furthering their educations and high school students in occupational programs who are discovering what teaching and caring for children is all about. Of course all staff are qualified and, since we are a state licensed facility, have been checked and cleared by fingerprinting and background checks.
WOODSIDE SCHOOLS EARLY CHILD EDUCATION AND CHILD CARE CENTERS are members of the Professional Association for Childhood Education. Woodside Schools also accepts subsidized care for qualifying parents through the P.A.C.E. Alternative Payment System and other various Federal and State government funded programs.
