John Masculine started his formal Martial Arts training in 1976 at Robert's School of Karate in Hayward, CA under Grand Master Robert Gaylord. He eventually became one of the lead Instructors of this school training with Grand Master Robert Gaylord untill his passing in Jan. 2001. He also studied the Visayan style of Philippine stick and knife fighting with Instructor Sonny Umpad. Currently he studys the Style of Hawaiian Lua and Okazaki Long Life Restoration Massage Therapy.

Shin Jitsu School of Karate, John is President of the United Self Defense Org. and the recognized Successor to Founder and Grand Master Robert Gaylord. The U.S.D.O. was founded by Grand Master Robert J. Gaylord as a nonpolitical group who's members are dedicated to the preservation and development of the Realistic Street Fighting Self Defense Martial Art Style that Grand Master Robert Gaylord taught, known as the United Self Defense Organization System.

John is a Life Member of Lua Halau O Kaihewalu Organization,
A Life Member and Instructor of the World Martial Arts Society, Calif. State Rep. of Kempo International, A Member of the Standards Board for the Close Quarter Combat System and a Life Member / Instructor of the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society.

The Kenpo Go Shin Jitsu School of Karate teaches defense against single, multiple, armed and unarmed attack in the standing, sitting and ground positions as well as assault scenarios by padded attacker.
