Dr. Altuwaijri M.D., R.P.V.I. is a diplomate of both the American Board of Vascular Surgery and the American Board of General Surgery. She received her training in General Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. She then went on for fellowship in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She achieved an outstanding academic and clinical record with exceptional operative skills and clinical judgment. During her training, she acquired cutting edge treatment modalities in arterial and venous diseases and worked with international experts in these fields.
Her practice, based in Ladera Ranch, covers a wide spectrum of vascular diseases involving both open and endovascular procedures. She maintains a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of vein problems due to her training by and association with some of the worlds leading experts in venous pathology.

Her goal is to introduce an outpatient practice offering minimally invasive, non-surgical options for vein problems, with little or no down time using foam sclerotherapy. She is credentialed in endovascular techniques such as stenting and ballooning as well as the new modality for treating varicose veins with plug technique. She has significant experience in the treatment of spider and varicose veins of the legs and hands.
Dr.Altuwaijri dedicates her free time to volunteering at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in La Jolla, San Diego assisting in treating veterans with vein problems.
Dr.Altuwaijri is a member of the American College of Phlebology, the branch of medicine that deals with veins and disease of veins. She is also a member of the American College of Surgeons, and the Midwestern Vascular Society.

Her other interests include sub facial endoscopic perforator surgery (SEPS) treating venous ulcers of the leg. She learned the technique at the Mayo Clinic, one of very few centers in the United States with the expertise. Dr.Altuwaijri also maintains an interest in arterial vascular surgery such as carotid surgery for prevention of stroke, repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms and aneurysms of the chest, leg bypasses and ballooning and stenting of diseased arteries.
When not practicing medicine, Dr.Altuwaijri enjoys spending time with her husband, children and family.
