Welcome to Monterey Dermatology and Liposuction Laser Medical Center, and the practice of Dr. Christopher Dannaker. This practice of medical and cosmetic dermatology was established in 1991 and now has more on-site lasers than any other practice on the Central Coast of California. In addition, Dr. Dannaker introduced many new procedures to the peninsula. These include Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing and Laser Liposuction. He continues to pioneer new technologies such as LaserErase(SM) skin renewal procedure.

Dr. Dannaker is proud to personally perform all laser procedures. He does not delegate these critical procedures to nurses or physician's assistants. Our office is dedicated to the safe, effective, and legitimate use of the latest advances in cosmetic laser technology. Our mission is to maintain our position as the premier cosmetically oriented dermatology practice in our area.

Dr. Dannaker is board certified by both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He continues his active affiliation as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. He has published extensively and contributed to numerous medical textbooks. Dr. Dannaker is a designated laser luminary and has been charged with training both domestic physicians and physicians from abroad. Our patients' trust has enabled Dr. Dannaker to personally perform thousands of laser procedures.

Dr. Dannaker has developed many new skin rejuvenation treatments such as the LaserErase(sm) skin renewal process and LaserFill(sm) which combines both laser and volumization of the skin. These procedures have little to no downtime and involve the proven and safe laser technologies.

Dr. Dannaker has also taken training with Dr. Jeffrey Klein, the developer of Tumescent Liposuction. We offer liposuction of the face and body, totally under local anesthesia. Tumescent liposuction is performed in the office and affords patients the ability to return to work in a few days. Pain and discomfort are minimized because the procedure is performed with "micro" cannulas which do not traumatize and bruise the skin the way larger cannulas, such as those used in the operating room, do. Tumescent liposcution, performed properly, is known as the safest form of liposuction. It eliminates the risks of general anesthesia and allows busy patients to get back to their normal activities as soon as possible.

Dr. Dannaker was the first to begin photorejuvenation and photodynamic photorejuvenation PDT on the peninsula. These procedures have little to no downtime and use an intense pulsed light device (similar to a laser) or a pulsed dye laser along with LED light activation, to reduce brown spots, flushing, rosacea, unwanted blood vessels, and to refine the texture and tone of the skin through a series of two brief treatments. It is an ideal procedure for patients who do not wish to miss time from their busy schedules and to undergo milder, less aggressive procedures. With photodynamic photorejuvenation (PDT), there is a several day period of downtime, but this procedure can destroy skin precancers. As always, Dr. Dannaker endeavors to maximize patient's results. For example, he uses several lasers and low level laser light to maximize the cosmetic results of PDT.

We have many fillers available including Restylane®, Perlane®, fillers that last up to one year and do not require skin allergy testing. Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus, Sculptra and other new, less expensive fillers such as Prevelle Silk are all available.
