Is LA next in a list of cities experiencing Drug Cartel Crime?
Tackling drug crime is a national security priority. LA is no stranger to violence, but with drug cartels tossing grenades into crowded celebrations, how far are we willing to let things go before we say enough is enough. "With nearly every Hispanic gang in Los Angeles in some way associated with one of the four major Mexican cartels, it is only a matter of time before we begin seeing that type of violence happening here." said Armando Cardenas, a crime prevention specialist and LA Gang Researcher, in a recent phone interview with LA Crime Prevention dot com. "The Sinaloa Cartel has a heavy influence on LA Gangs and the drug trade in general" he added. With Mexico facing an all out drug war, more innocents are bound to be lost and the violence is only getting worse. The escalation of violence is in response to President Calderon's crackdown on the drug trade in Mexico. The Military surge has been met with extreme resistence and brutality.

A City like Los Angeles is ripe for a terrorist attack. Global Terrorists are just itching to find a way to infiltrate the United States and perform an act of terror that would reach cataclysmic proportions. The likelihood, however, of a terrorist attack by foreign nationals occurring on US soil in the foreseeable future is slim. Domestic Terrorism, however, is another story entirely. Domestic Terrorism, according to the FBI, is “the unlawful use of force or violence, committed by a group(s) of two or more individuals, against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment there of, in furtherance of political or social objectives”. The United States Patriot Act adds that domestic terrorism incidents “occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States”. The recent and ongoing rash of Hate Crimes being perpetrated in Los Angeles gives rise to the question. Is Domestic Terrorism Alive and Well in Los Angeles? The sensless murders and other acts of violence against several Black teenagers by Mexican gang members would by some be considered "Terrorism".
Sections 186.20-186.33 of the California Penal Code: This chapter is known as the "California StreetTerrorism Enforcement and Prevention (STEP) Act and relates specifically to street gangs. Violent streetgang members threaten, terrorize and commit a multitude of crimes against the ordinary citizens of Los Angeles.
"The shear violence that occurs in Los Angeles in unbelievable. It is amazing that so much crime and violence can occur in one area. It is becoming apparent that many across the country do not understand the extent of the problem of violent crime in Los Angeles." says Senior Gang Researcher Thomas Redmann of gangresearch.org. He adds "It is important to never underestimate the people around you. Always be alert and aware. The gang issue is a community problem that cannot be resolved unless we all do our part."

Watch our Hunt for Osama Bin Laden News Feed
The hunt for Osama Bin Laden is on. Although President Barack Obama has adopted a far less aggressive tone with regards to Osama Bin Laden, saying only that his "Number one priority" was to protect America from further attack, he is no less interested in capturing or killing him. President Obama stated very clearly and in no uncertain terms that the focus of his national security strategy would be in Afghanistan specifically along the border region with Pakistan. Obama began by saying "We took our eye off the ball when we invaded Iraq." He added, "I think that we have to so weaken Bin Laden's infrastructure that, whether he is technically alive or not, he is so pinned down that he cannot function". In a later comment he also stated "And I'm confident that we can keep them on the run and ensure that they cannot train terrorists to attack our homeland."
