At High Strung, we don't just sell beads, we also provide design advice, restring beads, repair jewelry and make up custom designs for special occasions. Our classes and workshops will inspire and guide you through your own projects.
To find our store, simply head south down College Avenue from the Rockridge BART station. We are located about a block and a half down on the west side of the street.

Welcome to High Strung, a full-service bead store located in the Rockridge district of Oakland, CA. This is a delightful city neighborhood full of some of the Bay Area's best restaurants and dozens of unique shops.

Our store offers a separate classroom where you can take a class, have a beading party or just sit and play with different designs. We offer many beading services : classes and parties, custom design, restringing and jewelry repair.

Our selection of beads is ever-expanding as we are always in search of new and vintage beads. Many one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry are for sale as well as an eclectic selection of gift items including "objects d'art" for the home.

Our inventory is constantly being added to with new beads and findings. If you come into the store, you will always find a large selection of glass beads, vintage German and Czech glass beads, semi-precious stones and fresh-water pearls, Austrian crystal (including rare vintage shapes and colors), base-metal spacers and charms, wood, resin and shell beads and, of course, seed beads!

Behind the counter we keep our sterling silver and gold filled findings, spacers and charms. We have quite a selection - a variety of choices for creating and finishing off your projects!

Other "treats" in these cases include dazzling venetian glass beads, antique Chinese rings and locks, sterling silver and gold filled chain and a multitude of intriguing and unusual pendants.

Restringing can be done with or without knots. In addition, we are able to re-glue, epoxy and wire-wrap broken jewelry. Our staff of pro beaders is always ready for a challenge. We can help you with the most basic jump-ring replacement to reconstructing antique, intricate beadwork. We can also help set you up to do your own repair work.
