Hi everyone. CRB will have our last shop ride on October 23, 7 am. It's a road ride, and we are thinking we'll ride to Foothill, up Moody and Pagemill, ride along Skyline and descend HWY9, back to Los Gatos. If you plan to join us, bring a well working bike, helmet and a fun attitude. Each rider assumes his or her risk riding a bike on the road. :) Update! We will roll out at 8 am instead of ...Read More
Always fun, but I've been suffering from what my 3 kids had at one point or another in the past 2 weeks. I am getting over it, but the pack is merciless. Beautiful day, couple dozen showed up and started mellow, but Philip from Yahoo and another Specialized kitted rider took the pack for a spin on the way back and strung us out. If you've never done the Noon ride, aka Nooner, you need to try it once. At least ...Read More
Sorry for the lack of updates. It took me some time to figure out where the corrupt file was and figure out if the re-install would delete previous posts. We are WP 3.0 and no content was lost. We are on Facebook, too! Read More
Steel has been real for me since 2000 when I sold my Klein Quantum and got a Voo Doo Rada. Since then, I've upgraded to another steel frame Gunnar Roadie in 2007. Steel has offered me comfort and performance at a value that far exceeded my expectations. Then early this year, I caught the carbon bug. I looked high and low to see what my options were and wasn't too satisfied with the immediate options. Then I called Lynskey to ...Read More

Drool worthy, otherwise as known as Santa Cruz Carbon Blur Xc
Pain and anguish wasn't exactly my experience at the 2009 Cat's Hill. Sure, the race official pulled me out after 4 laps. I wasn't the first to be pulled and wasn't the last. The family came, sans Olivia who napped at home. Joshua had an awesome (safe) race. His crash at Sea Otter dictated his strategy, nice and easy. Elijah got into the mix after the kids all asses by, got on his scooter, powered by yours truly and got ...Read More
I ride a Gunnar Roadie. I got it in 2007, and it rides like a nice steel frame is expected to, at about a pound or two heavier than any modem carbon fiber frame. The parts came from my 2000 Voo Doo Rada: Shimano Ultegra 6500 grouppo and Mavic CXP 33 rimmed wheels. All 9 speed. I did upgrade to compact cranks about a year ago. Well, that spec is about to be changed. I got an advance from Esther, for ...Read More

Yes, another year, another AToC. But unlike last year where I misssed the prologue in downtown Palo Alto, this year I made it to the second stage. This time one of the two climbs was in Woodside, so I took the opportunity to watch the action live. Suffice it to say, the pros are FAST. Awesome photos were taken by Ken Conley and you can check out his AToC race photo gallery. It was cold, raining and people in the hundreds came out ...Read More
Wow. President Obama in in the Oval Office, and we get another earth shattering news from our local mountain bike company Santa Cruz! Okay, this news might not be as monumental in scale, but all things being relative, this is still breaking news from Santa Cruz, well known for full suspension mountain bikes made in aluminum. For the new year, the Blur XC will sport an entirely new frame material, carbon fiber. All being said and done, the frame with shock ...Read More
