At the White House today, people were talking about you. No, not by name, but you -the readers of this site- were in the minds of the dignitaries discussing a future without domestic violence. Today President Obama and Vice President Biden spoke out about the importance of fostering greater public knowledge of domestic violence and ways to better protect and serve victims.
The video above is from a speech given by the Vice President at an event celebrating the 16th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), a landmark in domestic violence work. They’re talking about you as teens, as students, as possible victims and as the ones who have the potential to stomp out this issue’s existence. You are in the minds of people working on this issue and we want to make sure you know that dating abuse- and your safety and happiness in relationships- is worthy of national concern.
