Davis is located in Yolo County, California. As of the local census, the city had a total population of 64,821 (60,308 in 2000). Davis is well known in the state of California as being a socially and environmentally conscious university, bike, and railroad town, home to the University of California, Davis. Davis real estate is a bedroom community for Sacramento which is only a 15 minute drive away. In 2006, Davis was ranked as the second most educated city (in terms of the percentage of residents with graduate degrees) in the United States by CNN Money Magazine, after Arlington, VA.
