We have a comprehensive approach in treating addiction and co-occurring disorders. As part of treatment, the client completes our curriculum, Embracing Change: Recovery for Life, while following a customized treatment plan. Research-based modalities such as Motivational Interviewing (MI) are incorporated in the curriculum and help our therapists “meet the client where he or she is” and work to move the client’s ambivalence about addiction toward a real desire for change.
Because every addiction differs, we collaborate with the client to develop customized plans based on the client’s personal strengths, co-occurring disorders, and recovery goals. Throughout treatment, we re-evaluate these plans and make changes when clinically appropriate.
Because we strongly encourage involvement in 12-Step meetings and other peer support groups, our curriculum Embracing Change: Recovery for Life includes a section about 12-Step fellowships. The “What are the Twelve Steps? Steppin’ a New Life” section introduces our clients to the overall 12-Step spirit and the positive peer relationships that can be established by attending 12-Step meetings.
